The\u00a0ICSI procedure\u00a0involves\u00a0micro-injection\u00a0of a single\u00a0sperm\u00a0cell into the cytoplasm of a mature oocyte, which physically causes fertilization. The fertilized oocyte is returned to an incubator and allowed to develop into an embryo, which usually occurs within 7-10 days.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Embryo Biopsy for\u00a0Genetic Diagnosis or\u00a0Gender Selection\u00a0offers our clients the ability to take a genetic sample from an embryo before it is transferred. Embryos may be shipped to our laboratory for biopsy.<\/p>\n

Embryo\u00a0vitrification is the process whereby we freeze\u00a0equine embryos\u00a0for storage for indefinite periods of time prior to transfer into a recipient mare. We have the technology to\u00a0cryopreserve equine sperm\u00a0and\u00a0equine embryos, but not\u00a0equine\u00a0oocytes.<\/p>\n

Equine embryo transfer is a\u00a0safe but technical procedure, which involves the removal of a fertilized egg, or embryo, from a donor mare and transplanting it into a synchronized recipient mare.\u00a0Our recipient mare herd is located on site. Direct transfer guarantees the highest success rates for our breeders, at an affordable cost.<\/p>\n

\u00a0When the tragic occurrence of accident, illness, or death strikes, Genetic Rescue technology offers the possibility to carry on the reproductive career for both stallions and mares.\u00a0<\/span>This technology consists of the recovery of ovaries for oocyte collection, testis for\u00a0epididymal sperm retrieval.\u00a0 Sperm and Embryos can be cryopreserved and stored for later use.<\/span><\/p>\n

Once your mare or the recipient mare is confirmed in foal by an ultrasound exam at 42 days after the last breeding,\u00a0insurance\u00a0protection can be purchased to protect your investment in the\u00a0embryo\u00a0until 30 days after birth of the foal.<\/p>\n
